We are just super proud of all the construction and I am happy to report that our ribbon cutting ceremony will be the first week of next school year! This spring, we are having several opportunities to celebrate the last part of our fundraising drive before the capital campaign ends. To begin, we will have a “sneak peek” preview day of the new site on Friday, March 24th from 10:30 to 2:30 and everyone is invited to come by and see the construction progress. After spring break, HMS is going to launch the last leg of our fundraising drive with our spring annual giving program and we have a wonderful idea planned to involve the students. Our typical annual fund raises slightly over $20,000 so we thought this year, once we hit our goal, we will have JohnsonKreis bring out their concrete mixer to line the sidewalk to the new area and let all the kids put their handprints in the wet cement as a permanent reminder of their school’s expansion. To date, the capital campaign has raised a whopping $641,318.00 and we are just $8,039.00 away from our goal for the kitchen appliances so we know we can get there! After that is paid for, we will tackle funding a heavy stage curtain, kitchen items and other needs such as art and science materials. We hope all the kids will enjoy seeing the “preview” of the site in March and we look forward to seeing that concrete mixer out there and all the kids sinking their hands into the wet, sticky concrete. What a great way to end a highly successful campaign as we pave the way to Phase Three and to all our stakeholders, we couldn’t have done it without you! Time to celebrate!
