Our 4-6th grade is off to Camp McDowell this week! Part of the Montessori philosophy to encourage independence, which leads to overnight experiences for our tweens. Each year, the students embark on an exciting week away from mom and dad, but still under the supervision of their teachers. Learning to go away from home for the first time is a milestone in a child’s development and learning to do it with familiar faces around you makes the transition even easier. Especially helpful this year were these wonderful “Camp Survival Packages” that the parents created! Have fun, upper elementary!
