A Haven for Learning

Curiosity, and happiness, come to life in a place where children are allowed to follow their interests and explore their surroundings. Hilltop Montessori School, literally and figuratively, creates a haven for growth every day with students moving and active inside classrooms filled with advanced educational materials designed to engage them in hands-on learning and also outdoors with time spent in gardens and on a school campus that has been designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat.

“Hilltop allowed me to learn how I needed to learn, not how others thought I should.” Hilltop Alumni

Montessori Learning Environments Fully Engage Students,
Individually and as Community Members

Multi-age classrooms create a community that allows students to teach and learn, lead and follow, and cooperate and collaborate. Students actively work with each other in what becomes a family-like setting. An extremely low teacher-student ratio offers for an individualized education that permits each child to reach his or her own potential.

Montessori education fosters a child’s natural curiosity, instills a love of learning and provides one of the most effective and efficacious academic learning environments. Studies have demonstrated that children educated within a Montessori system are more prepared academically and socially than their peers.

Students operate within a balanced structure of freedoms and responsibilities, free to follow their inspirations with work that stimulates and satisfies their inner motivations while remaining responsible for tackling challenging and difficult work head-on. Through autonomy and collaboration, students are fully prepared for the 21st century.

“The freedom of individuality was priceless and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to excel to my fullest potential.”Hilltop Alumni

Hilltop Montessori School and Its Students—Thriving Naturally

Fostering a love of learning that will last a lifetime is the focus of every classroom at Hilltop. Individualized learning plans are created for each student in an atmosphere of study that will be challenging but not overwhelming, based on a pace that suits each child.

Hilltop Montessori School is located in the beautiful Town of Mt Laurel, conveniently off Highway 280 near Greystone and Shoal Creek. Located in a LEED certified building by the U.S. Green Building Council and nestled on seven, wooded acres, the Hilltop campus is a certified wildlife habitat.

The authentic and accredited Montessori program addresses all the best practices in education today: STEM, project-based learning, differentiated instruction, experiential learning and development of the whole child. Art, creativity, music and daily foreign language round out each child’s learning experience.

“Montessori’s love of learning and critical thinking skills allowed me to pursue my passions throughout my academic career.”Hilltop alumni
